( notes )
- met with the Composer and Conductor
- the entity I wrote about earlier this week: wouldn't be inaccurate to call them beings behind the Games
- they're testing us; we're here to serve some sort of purpose (Composer could not clarify what)
- they're the reason why this Game is so abnormal? Composer doesn't usually revive all players — bad practice for Composers — but because this specific Game is unfair, Composer feels we all deserve a second chance
- still, Composer has no choice but to treat this as a normal Game; therefore, they must judge us
- note that Magnus and the others found last week — a rejection of the Composer's proposal (could not clarify what that was)
- Composer and Conductor, for most part, on same side and want us to win
- the entity doesn't; in their eyes, our revival is unimportant, and they've already decided this Game should end in our loss
- already sent a few tests our way: Noise we fought last week (Composer was not notified beforehand), and the choice made in the mission before that (nonprofit vs. profit — don't think of it in those terms, however)
- example of a similar choice, in the context of what matters in this Game, given by the Composer: someone might hate flowers, for they will always wither and die. Another might still wish to plant them, as they're beautiful when they grow.
- Composer believes in latter
- asked Conductor if we should focus our efforts on proving this other entity wrong, in whatever they're testing — answer was yes
